NEWPORT, VA- The Berea College Mountaineers finished second in the 2015-2016 USCAA Directors Cup standings, only finishing behind Michigan's Rochester College, who won their first Directors Cup in the school's history by a mere 14 points over the Mountaineers.
Berea College, last year's Director's Cup winner, entered the spring season in first place, after strong finishes by our cross country teams, who both won USCAA national championships, and strong finishes by our golf, volleyball, and men and women's basketball teams. The Mountaineers did not make either spring national tournament, allowing Rochester to surge ahead and secure the Warrior's first Director's Cup in school history, which has mostly been spent athletically affiliated with the USCAA.
Albany College of Pharmacy finished in third place, which was their highest finish ever in their USCAA affiliated history, which was fueled largely by their women's soccer, basketball, and cross country teams.
Director's Cup points are awarded for the number of sport offerings and are also based on results from USCAA National Championship events. The final top-20 Director's Cup standings can be found by following the link below.
