If today's game at Covenant College is any indication, Berea College might find scheduling other NCAA Division III contests in the future a challenge; as the Mountaineers trash the Scots 94-47 to move to 18-4 on the season. The game versus Covenant is the only game versus a fellow NCAA Division III opponent on the Mountaineer schedule this season.
It was all BC from the start as London Moore drained a 3-point basket just 11 seconds into the contest. The Mountaineers caught fire at the end of the half going on a 18-0 run that included two three's each by Richard Parker and Aaron Ponder. That surge sent them to the locker room up 51-18 at the half. Berea shot an amazing 69% in the first half, including 60% from long distance.
The second half was no better for the Scots as the Mountaineers points continued to flow. Dominque Garmon scored 10 of his 13 total points in the second stanza. BC would shoot an eye popping 54% from the field and go 12-28 from long distance.
BC was lead by Richard Parker's 20 points including six 3-pointers. Garmon and Moore each tallied 13, while Daishon Robinson added 10. BC corralled 44 team rebounds, with Ethan Harris leading the way with seven.
The Mountaineers will return to the court on Tuesday, February 17 at 7:30 pm when they host former KIAC rival Alice Lloyd College in the Seabury Center.
