The USCAA announced it's Division I Men's Basketball All-Americans at the Championship Banquet tonight at the Nemacolin Resort and two Mountaineers heard their names called.
Sophomore, guard Richard Parker was named USCAA Division I First Team All-American. Parker becomes the first Mountaineer Men's Basketball First Team All-American since Jay Stenzel received First Team NAIA honors in 1988. Senior, guard Daishon Robinson was named USCAA Division I Honorable Mention. Robinson was limited to only Honorable Mention consideration by USCAA regulations because of missing the first half of the season with a hand injury.
Parker and Robinson join the most elite of lists becoming the eighth and ninth Berea College Men's Basketball players to receive All-American honors, the first since 2010 when Micah Turner was named NAIA Third Team All-American. They also join Nick Robinson (Men's Cross Country - Second Team), Courtney Conners (Women's Soccer - Honorable Mention) and Simone Brown (Volleyball - First Team) as Berea College's USCAA All-Americans.
Parker, Robinson and the rest of the Mountaineers will begin their pursuit of a National Championship tomorrow versus Iowa Wesleyan College at 5:00 pm.
