Prestonsburg, KY- The Berea College golf team finished 8th in the Alice Lloyd College Invitational this Tuesday in Prestonsburg, Kentucky- dealing with the tough terrain of Stone Crest Golf Club.
The mountainous golf course was nothing for Mountaineer Kevin Kim, who shot a 75 on day one of the tournament, and a 71 on day two, giving him a collective score of 146, and allowing him to finish third in the difficult tournament. The invitational, which was stacked with difficult NAIA opponents, was won by Indiana Tech, who edged out Pikeville to win the team part of the tournament.
The Mountaineers were led by Kevin Kim, Austin Worley, Derrick Lisanby, and Blade Hampton on day one of the tournament, shooting a 322 as a team. Senior Nate Metz swapped spots with Hampton on day two of the tournament, as the Mountaineers shot 327 in their second day of play in Prestonsburg.
The Mountaineers are back in action this Sunday as they go to the Dick Park Invitational at The Fort Golf Club in Indianapolis, Indiana. Franklin College is hosting the tournament, which will consist of several NCAA opponents from Southern Ohio and Indiana.
