Men's Soccer Record 2-1 Win in Season Opener

The men's soccer team started the 2015 season strong with a 2-1 victory over USCAA foe University of Cincinnati-Clermont

The first half saw Berea be the aggressor as they took 10 shots compared to UC-Clermont's five. The Mountaineers offense would strike first as senior Brad Camenisch scored a goal off of sophomore Garrison Wagner's assist in the 32nd minute. It was looking like Berea would cruise to a 1-0 first half lead but UC-Clermont tied the score at one goal each off a penalty kick with 9:06 remaining to make the game tied 1-1 going into the second half.

The aggression the Mountaineers showed in the first half continued in the second half as the team shot 18 shots in the half. The high volume of shots proved worthy for the Blue Crew as freshman Kevin Cuartas turned junior Million Beshah's assist into the game-clinching goal that led Berea to the 2-1 victory.

Berea (1-0) will return to action this Tuesday, Septemeber 1st as they host Crown College at 5:30 PM.
