Berea, KY – The Berea men's soccer team went up against Tennessee's Sewanee University this past Sunday, September 27. The Mountaineers came up short against the Sewanee Tigers, 0-4. This loss brings the Men's Soccer team to 4-6 for the year.
The Sewanee Tiger's offense was too strong and they scored their first goal of the game at minute 31 followed by a penalty kick at minute 27. Two minutes after the penalty kick, the third goal of the game number 6 Matt Hawse. Berea tried to push back, but the fourth goal of the game came at minute 13 leaving the score 0-4 on the first half.
Berea picked up some momentum on the second half of the game and had many close shots that were saved by Sewanee's goalie. The two teams went at each other using their best strategies, but neither team was able to score a goal in the second half of the game.
Sewanee had a total of 10 shots and Berea followed closely behind with a total of 9 shots.
Defensively, Berea's goalie had 4 saves and Sewanee had 3 saves.
