Berea, KY - The Berea College men's soccer team took on USCAA opponent Warren Wilson College this evening at home. The Mountaineers were able to get the win over the Owls, 6-0 and increase their record to 7-6-0.
Berea controlled most the game and were able to get the first goal 7 minutes into the game. This goal was scored by Jesse Massucco. The Mountaineers struck again at 19:30, this time it was Isaac Mendoza. The rest of the half would go scoreless. In the first half the Mountaineers took 19 shots and held the Owls to 0.
In the second half Berea still controlled the game. Brad Camenisch scored the first goal of the second half at the 40:30 mark. Soon after (38:45), Million Beshah scored another goal for the Mountaineers with a penalty kick making the score 4-0, Berea. At the 33:56 mark, Million would strike again this time assisted by Garrison Wagner. With 18:24 left to play, Caleb Congrove was able to find the back of the net and take the score to 6-0. The rest of the game would remain scoreless.
The Mountaineers played a very hard fought match and it was a great team effort with 23 different players receiving playing time. Berea put up 44 shots and held the Owls to 0. The Owl's goalkeeper played a great game picking up 18 saves on the night.
Berea will be back in action at home on Monday, October 12th against Kentucky Christian.
