Mountaineers Cruise to 5-1 Win Over CCU

Berea, KY - The Mountaineers took to the field today to take on the Cincinnati Christian University Eagles.  The game started at 6:00 PM at the Berea College Sports Complex.  The Mountaineers defeated the Eagles 5-1 increasing their record to 8-6-1.

The Mountaineers came ready to play this evening and within the first ten minutes (6:27) Alex Swaney found Million Beshah for the first goal of the night.  Just as everything seemed to be going in favor of the Mountaineers the Eagles swept in and found the back of the net at the 20:58 mark. That CCU goal would tie the game 1-1.  Berea fought hard to keep the ball on their side and it paid off when Million Beshah was able to score his second goal of the night at 30:42, this time being assisted by Henok Kebede.  With a 2-1 lead the Mountaineers fought to maintain and just before the half was over (41:04) Million was able to once again score a goal for the Mountaineers.  That goal put Berea up 3-1 at the half and gave Million a hat trick in the first half of play.

In the second half the ball traveled back and forth in a physical and fast paced game.  Berea was able to strike first again in the half when Brad Camenisch scored off a pass from teammate Garrison Wagner.  Shortly after (84:33), Million would continue his outstanding game with another goal that was assisted by Theo MacMillian.  That goal gave Million a very impressive four goals on the evening.

Berea took 14 shots throughout the entire game compared to the very close thirteen that the Eagles put up.  Berea's Caleb Stringer and Noah Dehart shared time in the goal and each had four saves on the night.

The Mountaineers will hit the road on October 18th and travel to Demorest, GA to take on the Piedmont College Lions.
