Louisville KY- The Mountaineers traveled to Louisville on Wednesday to take on the Spalding Golden Eagles. Even though the men's team played a solid game against the Golden Eagles, they came up short losing 4-0.
Spalding struck first in the 24th minute of the game firing a shot past Berea's Noah Dehart. From that point on the game became very physical as both teams fought hard for the win. At the end of the first half Spalding hung on to a 1-0 lead.
The majority of the second half went scoreless as both teams played solid defense. In the 78th minute the Golden Eagles again were able to find the back of the net again increasing their lead to 2-0. The Golden Eagles took advantage of the gained momentum and scored two more goals before the final horn giving them the 4-0 win over the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers will be back in action at Lagrange College on Saturday September 10 at 4:00 PM.
