Soccer's Sinkhorn and Eight Other Soccer Players Honored at the USCAA National Fall Banquet

Virginia Beach, VA - On Thursday evening the USCAA hosted the fall sport athletic banquet in the Virginia Beach Convention Center.  The banquet spotlighted the fall sports of men and women's soccer, men and women's cross country and volleyball.

Layne Sinkhorn was named the USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year.  Layne is a senior Defender from Stamping Grounds, KY.  He was the team captain this year and started in all 13 games he played.  Layne has been a great example to our young student-athletes on and off the field.

"Layne is the type of student-athlete every coach would like to have on their team," said head coach Rubem Rodriguez.  "He works very hard on the field and shows respect to all the coaching staff as well as teammates and is always willing to do whatever it takes to help the program.  We will miss his leadership and talent next season and would like to wish him good luck with his future."

Issac Domenech, Caleb Congrove and Wesley Saintilnord were named to the men's USCAA All Academic Team.

Amber Follin, Anna Hall, Grace Casciola, Jacqueline Zimmerman and Kayla Guffey were named to the women's USCAA All Academic Team.
