Track and Field Hold Their Own at Tom Hathaway Distance Carnival

The Berea College Track and Field teams spent their Valentines Day in Indianapolis, IN competing in the Tom Hathaway Distance Carnival.  The event hosted by NCAA Division II member University of Indianapolis features no scoring and no team winners, only individual event honors. 

Berea competed against NCAA  Division I, II and III members at the event.  Bright moments on the day for the Mountaineers included:


Men's 1,600 Relay - Berea finished second with a time of 3:51.39

Women's 400 Meters - Amy Callow finished 16th with a time of 1:05.04

Women's 1,600 Relay - Berea finished 3rd with a time of 4:33.76

Men's 800 Meters - Emmanuell Kemmi finished 20th with a time of 2:08.70

Men's 1 Mile - Emmanuell Kemmi finished 24th with a time of 4:43.96

Women's High Jump - Simone Brown finished 5th with a height of 1.53 Meters.

 

The teams will now turn their attention to the outdoor portion of their schedule; next competing at Transylvania University on March 21st.
