INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The men's indoor track and field team returned to the University of Indianapolis once again to compete in the Tom Hathaway Distance Carnival. The men came home with multiple personal bests and season best.
Sprinters Wesley Saintilnord and Issac Domenech set the stage for the men's improvements starting with the 200m. Saintilnord finished 12th with a PR of 23.54. Domenech was shortly behind him with a 15th place finish out of 44 competitors. Domenech also ran the 600m, finishing 2nd with a time and PR of 1:27.77. Berea had a strong showing in the 60m as well with Wynn-Jones Mbwambo, Aaron Effoe, Anthony Boateng, Wesley Saintilord and Jason Pearson all setting PR's.
Middle Distance runner Emmanuell Kemei brought home yet another first place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:56.67.
The pace of improvements set by the sprinters continued with the distance runners as well. Jeremy Johnson ran a season best in the 5k with a time of 15:24.73 earning him a second place finish. Dylan Watkins also had a successful race with a PR of 16:12.70.
The PRs and high placings continued on the field too. Dave Bell placed 6th of 18 in the long jump with a distance of 6.24m. Thrower Robin Hauschner threw a PR in the shot put with a distance of 8.71m.
Then the men ended the night with yet another great finish in the 4x400m. Runners Wesley Saintilnord, Emmanuell Kemei, Issac Domenech, and Dave Bell earned a 2nd place finish with a time of 3:31.45 to bring an end to a successful meet.
The Mountaineers head to Columbus, OH to compete in the Rick Meindl Invite hosted by Capital University. The meet is set to start at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 20th.
