MEN PUSH PAST THE WINDS AT CENTRE INVITE

DANVILLE, KY- The Berea College men's track and field team traveled to Centre College to compete in the Centre Colonel Invitational this past weekend. The men competed among 18 teams as well as the harsh 35mph winds.  In the end the men finished 9th of the 18 scoring teams.

Pushing against the winds, Isaiah Dodson placed 2nd in his debut steeplechase with a time of 9:44.71. Emmanuel Kemei broke through the winds and finished 2nd  in the 800m with a time of 1:55.32. In the 5k, Jeremy Johnson brought home 6th place with a time of 16:01.37.

Decreasing the distance, but not the winds, Issac Domenech placed 13th in the 400m with a time of 51.82. In the 200m, Wesley Saintilnord placed 22nd with a time of 24.31. Domenech followed him with a time of 24.37, placing 25th. Aaron Effoe finished 16th in the 100m with a time of 11.90. WynnJones Mbwambo followed shortly behind with a time of 11.92, finishing 19th.

Adding hurdles to the mix, Dave Bell earned 6th place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.59. He was followed by Ethan Harris who ran a time of 58.75, placing 8th. Bell also did very well in the long jump with a distance of 6.35m, placing 4th overall.

The men ended the night with a 2nd place finish in the 4x400m. The relay team was made up of Issac Domenech, Dave Bell, Ethan Harris, and Emmanuel Kemei. The men ran a time of 3:27.75.

The Mountaineers will travel to the University of the Cumberland's this Friday and Saturday, April 8-9th. The meet is set to start on Friday at 2:00pm and Saturday at 9:00am.
