Lexington, KY – The Berea College men's indoor track team hit the track for the first time in 2017 taking part in the University Of Kentucky Track and Field Invitational. The meet was made up with mostly NCAA DI programs.
Competing in the 60m for the men was Aaron Effoe clocking a time of 7.51, Aldrin Vinton 7.6, Zach Campbell 7.81 and Samuel King 7.93. Wesley Saintilnord led the men in the 200 with a time of 23.68. Other finishers for the men in the 200m were Aaron Effoe 24.49 and Samuel King 25.98.
On the distance side Berea had five finishers in the mile. Leading the way was Casey Monti clocking a time of 4:40.18. Corbin Flege was the next Mountaineer to cross the line running 4:48.30. Other finishers for the men included Raymond McKinney 4:48.96, Landon Bond 4:50.32 and Caleb Flege 5:04.00. Berea had two runners in the 3k as well with Nathan Smith running 9:40.38 and Kyle Young 9:45.24.
Aaron Lange grabbed a huge PR in the shot put throwing 12 meters. Ricky Brayton followed Lange with a throw of 10.19m and Austin Moore threw 10.19m. Dave Bell competed in both the long and triple jump for the Mountaineers. Bell leaped to a mark of 12.63m in the triple and 5.92 in the long.
The Mountaineers will be back in action on January 27th as they head to Cedarville, OH to take part in the Yellow Jacket Invitational. The meet is set to start at 3:30 PM.
