Mountianeers Excel at Indianapolis Team Challenge

Indianapolis, IN- The men's indoor track and field team traveled to the University of Indianapolis for the second time this season to compete in the Indianapolis Team Challenge.  The men finished 7th out of the 11 competing teams with 24 points.  The overall team champion was Washington University (MO.).

On the distance side Berea placed three runners in the top 15 with senior Casey Monti leading the way in 10th place (4:35.40).  Kyle Young finished shortly after Monti in 12th place with a time of 4:40.52.  Corbin Flege was 13th running 4:42.31.  Freshman Landon Bond snagged a top 15 finish in the 3k running 9:32.09. 

Berea was able to grab 2 top 5 finishes in the relays.  The 4x800 team of Monti, Young, Flege and Caleb Flege finished 1st overall and the 4x400 team of Dave Bell, Samuel King, Million Beshah and Boubacar Cherif finished 5th overall. 

In the field events Aaron Lange finished 8th in the Shot Put (12.07m) and 7th in the Weight Throw (12.39m).  Senior Robin Hauschner was 12th in the Weight Throw with a toss of 11.01m.  Dave Bell advanced to the finals in the long jump and his leap of 6.33m was good enough to finish 5th overall. 

The Mountaineers will travel to the Anderson Fred Wilt Invitational on February 25th, this will be the final indoor meet of the season for Berea.  The meet is set to start 3:00pm.
