Mountaineers Finish 1-2-3 at Centre College Invitational

Danville, KY – The Berea College men's cross country picked up another win this weekend at the Centre College Invitational.  The Mountaineers scored 16 points compared to the 49 scored by runner-up Centre College.  Asbury finished 3rd scoring 90.  Berea posted a team time of 2:21:41 and had a team average of 28:20. 

The Mountaineers ran to a 1-2-3 finish with Jeremy Johnson leading the way.  Johnson finished first overall with a time of 27:32.  Logan McKenzie and Dylan Watkins finished 2nd and 3rd overall running 27:53 and 28:20.  Casey Monti and Raymond McKinney rounded out the scoring for Berea finishing 5th  (28:46) and 7th (29:07).  Kyle Young was the sixth Mountaineer to finish in the top ten with a 8th place finish and a time of 29:13.

Other finishers for Berea were Nathan Smith finishing 12th (30:07), Luis Gonzalez 15th (30:14), Matthew Sargent 34th (32:35), Corbin Flege 36th (33:30) and Jose Gonzalez in 40th (34:20). 

Berea will be back in action at home on Saturday, September 17th running in the Berea College Invitational.  The women are scheduled to toe the line at 10:00am and the men at 11:00am.
