Macon, GA- The softball team headed south to take on USA South Member Wesleyan College. The Mountaineers split the doubleheader series with the Wolves winning the first game but falling in the second.
Berea College won 8-0 against Wesleyan College in game one of the double header. The Mountaineers had 12 hits in the game verses the Wolves who only had two lone hits. Hitting was the deciding factor that let Berea run rule Wesleyan College in only 5 innings. Fallis led the Mountaineers with three hits, followed by Dowdell, Hackney, Howard, and Nash with two hits each. Howard also picked up the win in the circle.
During the second game of the double header the Mountaineers lost 8-9 to the Wolves. The Wolves took the lead at the beginning of the game and were winning 8-2 in the 5th inning. In the 6th inning the Mountaineers came back and tied the game 8-8. The Mountaineers could not push the game over the edge as the Wolves scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning. Setters led the Mountaineers with 3 hits, followed by Stanfield with 2. Howard lost the game in the circle.
The Mountaineers play next Sunday, March 25th at Agnes Scott College.
