The women's soccer team kicked off their season tonight with a 3-0 win over USCAA foe University of Cincinnati-Clermont.
The Mountaineers were dominating the first half of the game, taking 15 shots and keeping the ball on the offensive side of the field for most of the half but were unable to find the net. Berea College added another goal in the seventh minute from freshman Sohara Perez off of Zimmerman's second assist to make the score 2-0 heading into halftime.
The Blue Crew continued to dominate the ball in the second half as they continued to put shots on goal and keep the ball in the opposing team's defensive half. The Mountaineers upped their lead to three goals when Perez added her second goal of the game off Zimmerman's third assist of the game in the 16th minute. Berea would finish the game with 28 shots compared to UC-Clermont's eight.
