Berea Drops Game to USCAA Cleary

Howell, MI - The Berea College Women's Soccer team traveled north to Howell, MI to take on USCAA #15 Cleary University.

Cleary came out strong and put a shot through the goalkeepers hands to score 7:52 into the game. Cleary's offense continued to put pressure on the Berea defense and would score two more goals in the first half to put the Cougars up 3-0 at the half.

In the second half the Mountaineers defense played better but the offense was still unable to find the net and were held scoreless for the entire game.  They were able to hold the Cougars to zero goals in the second half but it wasnt enough for the win as they lost 3-0 and are now 4-4-0 for the year.

Berea put up three shots on goal compared to the ten shots on goal that Clearly was able to put up.  The Mountaineers did rack up seven saves throughout the game with four in the first half and three in the second half.

The game was paused for several minutes due to an injury to Berea freshman Grace Casciola after her and a member of Cleary collided.  Casciola had full movement of her limbs but was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.

The Mountaineers will be back in action when they travel to Cincinnati to take on UC-Clermont onWednesday, October 7th.  On the 10th of October the Mountaineers will return home to take on Warren Wilson.
