Berea,KY- The Berea College women's soccer team fought hard in a 4-1 loss to NAIA member Midway University this evening.
The first half was full of offense for the Mountaineers as they netted 15 shots to the Eagles 7. Midway got the first two goals of the contest as Kindsay Miller-Riney got the Eagles on the board at 34:19 and 25:33. Berea would get on the board at 20:29 on a goal from Stevie Ridley.
The second half showed the grit of both teams as a player from each team earned a yellow card. On the offensive side it was all Midway as Miller-Riney got her third goal of the game at 12:41. The last goal of the game would come from the Eagles Hayley Greenwell at 2:39.
Defensively Berea goalkeeper Amber Follin had a terrific game netting 10 saves.
The Mountaineers move to 2-4-1 after the setback. Berea will be back home Saturday to face Franklin College at 1:00PM.
