Women's Soccer Lose on the Road at Earlham College

Richmond, IN- The women's soccer returned to the field competing in a non-conference game this afternoon. The game saw the Mountaineers take on the Earlham College Quakers at the home field of the Quakers in Richmond, IN.

Three shots accompanied by a corner kick did not produce any goals as Berea came out attacking in the early segments of the game. The score changed in favor of Earlham in the eighth minute though as a goal gave the Quakers a 1-0 lead. Two more goals by the Quakers changed the score to a 3-0 deficit as the offensive attack by the Mountaineers was unable to yield any goals. Earlham took a 4-0 advantage into halftime.

The offensive chances Berea had in the first 45 minutes dissipated in the second half as the offense went cold. The score changed in favor of the Quakers six minutes into the half as a goal made the score 5-0. Another goal with six minutes remaining in the game gave Earlham the final margin of victory, 6-0. Sohara Perez took two shots in the game while Caitlin Taulbee took one shot. Amber Follin started in the net for the Mountaineers and made a remarkable 17 saves on 23 shots on goal.

Berea begins a three-game home stand on Tuesday when they welcome Centre College to the Berea College Sports Complex. Live video of the contest, scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM, can be found at www.bereaathletics.com, the official site of Berea College Athletics.
