The Berea College women's soccer team has been picked seventh in the USA South Preseason West Division Coaches Poll which was released last week.
Berea took 12 points in the poll to place seventh. Piedmont was picked to win the West Division with six first place votes. Maryville placed second with one first place vote. Covenant followed behind at third with one first place vote. Agnes Scott placed fourth with 28 points with Huntingdon following behind with 27 points. Lagrange came in sixth with 18 points while Wesleyan followed Berea to place eighth with 11 points.
This is Berea's first year in the conference joining other new members Brevard College and Pfeiffer University. Brevard and Pfeiffer are not included in the polls as they are reclassifying from Division II and are not eligible for postseason play.
The Mountaineers open the season at home taking on Covenant College on Saturday, September 2 at 4:00 p.m.
