Women's Indoor Track and Field Starts the Year Off at  the University of Kentucky Invitational

Lexington, KY – The Berea College women's indoor track team hit the track for the first time in 2017 taking part in the University Of Kentucky Track and Field Invitational.  The meet was made up with mostly NCAA DI programs.

Leading the way in the 60 meters for Berea was Cassandra McFadden with a time of 8.24.  Devan Dowell was the next Mountaineer across the line in 8.79 with Alli Silas right behind her in 8.82.  Rebecca Dixson ran the 200 meters for Berea and clocked a time of 28.68 and Kaylee Robinson ran the 400m finishing in 1:03.23.  Kierra Moore competed in the long jump leaping to 4.81 meters.

On the distance side Berea had three finishers in the 800m With Jenna Hughes leading the way with a time of 2:29.98.  Delaney Williams finished in 2:37.53 and Megan Hale was right behind her running 2:38.66.  Ivanna Sabino ran the mile for Berea and crossed the line in a time of 5:39.62.  Dove DeNigris toed the line in the 3k and was just shy of the school record with a 11:11.52.

The Mountaineers will be back in action on January 27th as they head to Cedarville, OH to take part in the Yellow Jacket Invitational.  The meet is set to start at 3:30 PM.
