Cedarville, OH- The Berea College women's indoor track team traveled north to compete in the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational. The women placed fifth as a team in the competitive meet.
Kaylee Robinson and Alli Silas both advanced to the finals in the 55 meters. Kaylee ran 7.55 to finish 7th overall and Alli posted a time of 8.06 to finish 8th. In the 200 Kaylee ran to a personal best indoor time of 27.08 to finish 5th overall. Berea also saw a lot of success in the relays with the 4x200 team made up of Megan Hale, Kaylee Robinson, Rebecca Dixson and Alli Silas finishing 2nd overall with a time of 1:53.11 and the 4x400 team of Rebecca Dixson, Kaylee Robinson, Jenna Hughes and Megan Hale also finishing 2nd.
The Mountaineers also grabbed some points in the field with Kierra Moore leaping to a 5.06m (16-7.25ft) jump in the long jump to finish 2nd. Delaney Williams finished 7th in the triple jump (9.60m) and Maya Riddles was 8th in the shot put (8.86m).
On the Distance side Berea placed 3 in the top 7 in the 800m run. Jenna Hughes lead the way finishing 5th (2:31.54) with Delaney Williams finishing 6th (2:32.45) and Jamie Welch in 7th (2:34.08). Jamie Welch also scored in the mile with a 7th place finish and a time of 5:28.74. In the 3k Erin Gonterman (11:32.89) and Sydney Kyker (12:19.01) finished 4th and 8th. Dove DeNigris finished 3rd overall in the 5k but was the first college runner to finish running a time of (19:44.39).
The Indoor track team will travel to the University of Indianapolis for the second time this season to compete in the Indianapolis Team Invitational on February 11th.
