Indianapolis Team Invitational- Berea College women's indoor team made their second appearance this season in Indianapolis. Overall the women placed 6th out of 14 teams that competed in the meet.
Kaylee Robinson placed 5th in the 60 meter dash prelims with a time of 8.18 and advanced to the finals where she placed 8th with a time of 8.30. Also competing in the prelims for Berea was Rebecca Dixon (8.51), Alli Silas (8.60), and Kierra Moore (8.60). Silas and Moore ended up both tying for 19th running the exact same time to the hundredth of a second, 8.60. With this not being unlikely enough, Dixon incredibly tied for 14th with an individual from Washington U, both running a time of 8.51. Kaylee Robinson stayed busy by placing 8th with a time of 27.21 in the 200, then competing in the 400 placing 7th with a time of 1:03.10.
A swarm of Berea women took over the mile and four of them finished in the top 15. Erin Gonterman was 8th (5:37.48), Gabriella Sabino 9th (5:38.36), Jenna Hughes 11th (5:42.32) and Emily DeNigris 13th (5:44.13). Seven members of this crew were joined by Alli Silas to form two teams for the women's 4x800. The women's team B made up of Hughes, Gonterman, Gabriella Sabino and Ali Silas placed 1st with a time of 10:50.36 and was shortly followed by team A in 2nd place finish with a time of 10:55.35. That team was made up of Delaney Williams, Dove DeNigris, Ivanna Sabino and Megan Hale.
Kearstin Tingle competed in the 60 meter hurdles running a time of 11.71 where she advanced to the finals placing 8th overall with a time of 11.49. In the women's long jump Kierra Moore placed 5th overall with a mark of 4.93m. Maya Riddles finished 16th in the shot put with a toss of 9.25m.
The Mountaineers will travel to the Anderson Fred Wilt Invitational on February 25th, this will be the final indoor meet of the season for Berea. The meet is set to start 3:00pm.
