In the fifth set Berea came out strong and jumped to the lead. Mount St. Joseph clawed their way back but it wasn't enough and the Mountaineers were able to hold on for the win.
"We really pushed hard in to get the fifth set, it would have been very easy to give up and take the loss and go down in four but we really wanted it and were able to come back and get the win," said Head Coach Sonya Petroski. "Hopefully this will carry over into the tournament this weekend!"
Berea is now on a four game winning streak and will have a big weekend ahead of them as they host the USCAA North vs. South Battlefield Classic. Berea will begin play on Friday, September 25 when they take on Johnson & Wales (NC).
