Hanover, IN- The volleyball returned to the court this afternoon looking to break their three game losing streak. Today's opportunity came on the road as the team traveled to Hanover College in Indiana, partaking in two matches.
The first match, against the host Hanover College, started out as a close contest, as the Mountaineers saw themselves trailing early in the match 5-4. Momentum quickly shifted to the side of Hanover as they took the first set of the match by a score of 25-9. Hanover followed up the first set with a 25-13 victory to take a two set advantage heading into the third. Berea was unable to move the game to a fourth set as the Panthers won the final set 25-9 to win the match 3-0.
The team finished the day against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. After falling behind 5-1 in the beginning of the first set, the Mountaineers scored the next three points to pull within one point, 5-4. The flow of the match though changed back in the favor of Rose-Hulman, as they pulled out the first set 25-15. The second set saw the Fightin' Engineers take a 2-0 advantage with a 25-17 win. Berea battled back from a 5-0 deficit to begin the final set, eventually tying the game at six a piece before Rose-Hulman used a seven point swing to pull ahead for good, as the Mountaineers fell 25-13.
Berea's next match will take place at the Seabury Center, as the team hosts Kentucky Christian University this Tuesday, October 18th. First serve is set for 7:00 PM. Live video can be seen here.
