Welcome to the second largest collegiate cross country meet in the nation - The Greater Louisville Classic. Elite level competition and near perfect conditions set the stage for several personal and season bests from the Mountaineer cross country teams.
For the Women - Mercy Kershner ran a personal best 19:55.1 to finish 54th out of 404 runners in the 5K - Women's Silver Division - a division that included seven NCAA Division I institutions; with Berea finishing 30th out of 46 teams .
For the Men - Tarrance O'Connor (SR/Warsaw, KY) was a mer three seconds off a personal best, but his 26:07.19 was his fastest 8K of the season and good enough for 95th place out of 356 runners in the Blue Division - a division that featured 10 NCAA Division I schools (including SEC member's Kentucky and Missouri).
The cross country teams will return to action when they travel north to NCAA Division III, Wilmington College on October 17th.
