USCAA Honors Four Women Cross Country Runners

Lakeland, FL - Four members of the Berea College Women's Cross Country team received honors at the USCAA National Championships.  

The USCAA names the top 7 runners at the national meet First Team All American and the 8th through 14th runners are named Second Team All American.  Leading the way was Freshman Dove DeNigris who helped lead the Mountaineers to their first ever national championship by finishing runner up in the 6k women's race.  Not far behind Dove was Senior Mercy Kershner in 6th.  Because of their performances Dove and Mercy were both named USCAA First Team All American.  Erin Gonterman finished 10th overall in the 6k race which earned her USCAA Second Team All American.  

Mercy was also named to the USCAA All Academic Team along with teammate Sydney Kyker. Student-athletes earn All-Academic honors by having a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, a minimum of 24 credit hours completed and whose play impacted their respective teams.
