Mountianeers Edge Out Colonels to Win the Centre College Invitational
Danville, KY – The women's cross country team exhibited a strong performance this Saturday at the Centre College Invitational.  The Mountaineers scored 27 points to finish first out of the four complete teams edging out the Centre by seven points. Berea and Centre made up 14 of the 15 scoring times in the 5k race.  The Mountaineers posted an impressive team time of 1:43:23 and team average of 20:40. 

Erin Gonterman led the Mountaineers for the second week in a row finishing 3rd overall with a time of 20:19.  Berea took the next three scoring positions with Jamie Welch taking 4th in 20:26, Dove DeNigris in 5th with a time of 20:40 and Gabriella Sabino in 6th running 20:48.  Caitlyn Roberts rounded out the scoring finishing 9th overall for the Mountaineers with a time of 21:09.  Ivanna Sabino also ran to a top ten finish running 21:13 to finish 10th

Other finishers for Berea were Jenna Hughes in 18th (21:55), Hayley Clark 21st (22:15), Delaney Williams 22nd (22:17), Sydney Kyker 26th (22:58), Olamide Adejuma 31st (24:25), Megan Hale 37th (25:51), Monica Galic 39th (26:31), Riley Lanham 40th (26:35), Meghan Kramer 44th (27:20) and Kendra Humphrey in 47th (28:28). 

The Mountaineers will be back in action at home on Saturday, September 17th racing in the Berea College Invitational.  The women will run first at 10:00am with the men to follow at 11:00am.
