Mountaineers Finish Third at the Coach Johnson and Mary Kay Invitational

Berea, KY- This weekend the Berea Mountaineers hosted the Coach Johnson and Mary Kay Invitational which included 12 full scoring teams on the women's side. Centre College took home the trophy with 31 points followed closely was Tennessee Wesleyan with 38 points and your Berea College Mountaineers finished third overall with a team score of 62 points.

Junior, Emily DeNigris lead the pack this weekend placing 5th overall, with a time of 20:04.  Following close behind were sophomores Jamie Welch with a time of 20:22 and Delaney Williams with a time of 20:42, placing them in 8th and 11th place. Freshmen, Abigail Schlenker stepped up finishing in 19th place with a time of 21:20, followed closely behind was senior Erin Gonterman finishing 24th place with a time of 21:30 to round out the scoring for the mountaineers.

Other finishers for the Mountaineers included Jr. Jenna Hughes (29th) with a time of 21:59, So. Caitlyn Roberts (30th) with a time of 22:01, So. Ivanna Sabino (40th) with a time of 22:33, Sr. Asia Foster (55th) with a time of 23:28, So. April Fellows (56th) with a time of 23:30, Fr. Rachel Melstead (63rd) with a time of 23:58, Fr. Tylan Eastham (71st) with a time of 24:38, Fr. Sydney Shackleford (72nd) with a time of 24:39, and Jr. Brena Griffin (98th) with a time of 28:27.

Next weekend on September 30, Berea will be traveling to Louisville, KY to compete in the Greater Louisville Classic.
