What to Watch for the Upcoming Season

The Lady Mountaineer's Softball team has 7 newcomers this season, and the team is looking at hitting to be their strength this season. They are also looking forward to playing some solid defense. The Lady Mountaineers have 3 pitchers this season: Returner Jacqui Howard, junior transfer Audre Lindsey, and freshman Kara Winchester. The three will be working together this season in the circle, focusing on consistency and taking the game one pitch at a time. Many players will be practicing and playing multiple positions this season, and according to Coach Yost, "We are a small group, but we are very well rounded with talent. We have the potential to do something great this season and these ladies have been working in the right direction to meet that potential."

Coach Yost is looking forward to the upcoming season, "The team and the coaching staff are very anxious to get this season going on Feb. 20th against Midway University. We have a great core of returners along with seven newcomers on the squad. Each and every one of them is going to make an impact on this team along the way." The Lady Mountaineers would love to see everyone show their support when they kick of their season at home against Midway on February 26th at 5:30 and 7:30.
