Koty Riley has been with the Berea College men’s basketball coaching staff in 2016-17. Riley came to Berea from Tollesboro, Kentucky after attending Lewis County High School and was a part of Coach Hemenway’s first recruiting class at Berea College in 2011. He enjoyed two seasons playing for the Mountaineers before shoulder injuries shortened his playing career. During the 2011-12 season, he played in 26 games at Berea starting 15 times while averaging 6.6 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. As a sophomore in 2012-13, Riley started all 31 games while averaging 9.6 points per game and 3.4 rebounds. He helped the Mountaineers to a 15-16 overall record, scoring in double figures on 17 occasions and scored a career-high 18 points in the Homecoming game win over Bryan College.
Riley graduated from Berea in 2015 with a degree in Communications. He currently works as an admissions counselor in the Berea College Admissions Office and is married to the former Tessa Jones. The couple reside in Berea and have a baby girl named Blakely.
