Maryville, TN - Berea women's soccer team went back on the road to face the Maryville College Scots. The Mountaineers were unable to take home a victory and are still on their quest to win their first game of the season.
The Scots started the game strong and never looked back, scoring the 1
st goal in the first 5 minutes of the game off a corner kick. The Scots were able to stay dominant, holding possession of the ball and limiting the Mountaineers 1 shot, 0 shots on goal. Lindsey Lewallen was able to score in the 32
nd and the 63
rd minute of the game, assisted by Lexie Hill. Taylor Frizen was able to score in the 19
th minute of the game, assisted by Bailey Sipos. Also, Frizen was then able to score off a corner kick from Jenna Clothier. Bailey Sipos was able to score in the 32
nd minute assisted by Jenna Clothier and Lexie Hill, then the 58
th minute assisted by Lexie Hill.
The Scots fired off 42 shots, 17 on goal and were able to get awarded with 18 corner kicks. The Mountaineers were able to record 9 saves.
Up next, the Mountaineers will be on the road again against Sewanee: The University of the South on March 14
th. Kick-off is set at 1:00 PM.
