BEREA, KY.
The Berea College Men's soccer team celebrated their first home win and Senior Night for their four senior graduates: Moses Lian(#5), Leonardo Fernandez(#2), Junior Gyamfi(#10), and Juan Mercado(#20). With a tough battle against Waren Wilson College in a 1-0 final score match this win means the end of a losing streak for the Mountaineers, and a new overall record of 1-3-1.

During the first half of the game, Berea started off strong taking ten shots compared to five by Waren Wilson. Going into the second half Max Jr.(#11) a forward, scored the first goal for Berea at the 41:11 minute mark, which put Berea in the lead causing more ball control and possession against Waren Wilson.  

Throughout the second half Berea managed to have ten more shots to Waren Wilson's three with a total of twenty shots by Berea and eight for Waren Wilson.The Mountaineers player of the match was Omar Canella(#6), a center midfielder who had a great performance assisting Berea's back line and closing down the middle of the field. Canella also stepped up and played great minutes as a center back.

The Mountaineers will take on Franklin College at their home turf on Sunday, September 19 at 4 p.m.
