BEREA, KY. - As we return to intercollegiate athletic competition, Berea College has updated its spectator policies for home indoor athletic events this fall. The following policy will go into effect September 3, 2021, and remain in place until further notice:
 
Due to the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant, Berea College will take steps to distance faculty, staff and student members of our campus community from external guests attending indoor athletic contests.
 
Vaccination Guidelines, Masking Policy and Social Distancing

• Berea College recommends all spectators in attendance at indoor athletic events be fully vaccinated; unvaccinated spectators are encouraged to watch the free live stream of each home contest
• All spectators over the age of 2, regardless of their vaccination status, will be required to remain masked indoors unless actively eating or drinking
• External guests will be asked to follow social distancing rules

 
Entry and Designated Seating Areas

• External guests may park in the lower Seabury Center lot (Visitor Lot North) and enter Seabury Center through the community entrance off North Main Street (KY-595)
• External guests will follow posted signs directing them to external guest seating areas
• External guests will be asked to remain in designated seating areas and distanced from seating areas designated for our campus community
• External guests unwilling to follow this policy will be asked to leave the Seabury Center

 
Interacting with Student-Athletes Pre- and Post-Game

• External guests will not be permitted to congregate in foyers, hallways or any other part of the Seabury Center following games.  Guests who would like to meet with their player(s) following the game will be asked to do so outdoors.

 
Tickets and Concessions
Berea College will not charge admission to any volleyball games this fall.  All seating in the Seabury Center arena will be General Admission within each of the designated seating areas (separate for external guests and members of the Berea College campus community).  Food and drinks will not be sold at volleyball games. Guests will be permitted to bring their own items, but alcoholic beverages and glass containers are prohibited.
 
This policy will be updated prior to the basketball season.
