WILMORE, Ky. – The Berea College baseball team dropped their second road contest of the season, falling to Asbury University 19-0 on Tuesday evening.
With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to 2-11 on the season.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead after holding Berea scoreless in the top of the first inning as Asbury recorded five runs in the bottom of the first. The bats continued to be hot for the Eagles as they scored an additional 14 runs to take control of the contest.
The Mountaineers managed three hits as freshman
Andrew Dailey recorded a single to lead off the first inning. Freshman
Justin Brown also recorded a single, while freshman
Jayden Junta notched a double. Freshman
Derek Hay pitched 3-1/3 innings for Berea, striking out four of the 24 batters he faced.
The Berea College baseball team return to the diamond this weekend as they travel to face LaGrange College to begin USA South Athletic Conference action. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. in LaGrange, Ga.
