BEREA, Ky. – The Berea College Baseball team fell 11-1 to Asbury University on Wednesday evening.
With the loss, the Mountaineers slid to 4-26 on the season.
The Mountaineer offense was cold against the Eagles as Berea only notched four hits, while the team struggled defensively with five errors. The Eagles applied pressure on the Mountaineers putting up four runs throughout four innings.
The Mountaineers pushed a run across the board with an RBI single from freshman
Marcelo Manrique. The Mountaineer offense was silent after the fifth inning allowing the Eagles to score another seven runs to close out the game.
The Mountaineers are back in action April 19 as they travel to battle Asbury for the fourth time this season. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wilmore, Ky.
