BEREA, Ky.- The Mountaineers debut their second home game of the season Sunday, September 4th, against Franklin College. Once again, the Mountaineers took a loss against the Grizzlies 4-1, but not without a fight.
The Mountaineers held strong against the Grizzlies until the 29th minute, when the Grizzlies scored the first goal of the game. Franklin College held the lead until the first half was over. Coming into the second half, the Grizzlies started fast and had their second goal in within the first six seconds.
Continuing into the second half, the Mountaineers knocked in their first goal by sophomore
Alyssa Tittsworth for her fist goal of the season. With this high energy in the second half, the Mountaineers continued to press high but still allowed three more goals into the back of their net. Berea registered 10 shots on goal, four corner kicks, 10 saves, and two fouls.
Freshmen goalkeeper
Korie Dickson recorded 83 minutes of action and totaled 10 saves.
The Mountaineers will continue to have another chance to defend their home field at the Berea College Sports Complex this Wednesday, September 7th, at 7p.m against Asbury University.
