Franklin, IN - The Berea College Mountaineers open up their season with a comeback 79-70 victory at Franklin College in the Spurlock Center on Friday night.
The Mountaineers were down by 3 in the beginning of the second half 37-34 to the Grizzlies. After regrouping at halftime, the Mountaineers came out and pulled together 45 points to take the lead from Franklin.
Three individuals collected double-digits within the scoring column Friday night. Bryce Riley (Bardstown, KY) went for a game-high 21 points with teammate Trey Minter (Louisville, KY) adding 20 points. Tyler Moss (Clarksville, TN) came into the game dropping 10 points to put the Mountaineers back into the game.
Berea had a strong shooting percentage in free throws securing 15-19 making the Mountaineers 78.9 percent from the line, and shot 49.2 percent from the floor.
Up next, the mountaineers will be heading to Asbury University to take on the Eagles on November 14th. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm.
