Berea, KY - In a gripping showdown at the Roland Wierwille Court, the Berea College Mountaineers clashed against the DePauw University Tigers in a riveting encounter that saw the Mountaineers falling short in an 87-81 battle on Wednesday night.
The game commenced with a tight back-and-forth rhythm, with both teams striving for dominance. After an intense first half, the Mountaineers fought back vigorously after the break, equalizing the score at 38-38 with a layup by
Bryce Riley (Bardstown,KY). Fueling the team's resurgence,
Demetris Phillips (St. Louis, MO) fired a three-pointer, propelling the Mountaineers to take a slender lead at 41-40. The DePauw Tigers then started to make a run and the Mountaineers couldn't keep up.
Kevion Hudson (Louisville, KY) emerged as a dominant force, tallying an impressive 29 points, steering the Mountaineers' offensive charge, and leading the team in scoring.
