Sewanee, TN - In an electrifying clash on Monday night in Juhan Gymnasium, the Women's Basketball team showcased their dominance, clinching a resounding 74-63 victory over The University of the South. From the opening minutes, Berea seized control of the game, maintaining their lead throughout all four periods.
The Mountaineers capitalized on turnovers to accumulate 21 points of their final 74. Their robust defense and adept offensive maneuvers set the tone for a formidable performance that kept their opponents, Sewanee, persistently on the chase throughout the match.
Standout performances illuminated the court, notably led by
Atyia Moss, whose commanding presence contributed a game-high 19 points. Not far behind,
Drea Satori and
Jayden Merriweather showcased their prowess, with Satori amassing 14 points, closely followed by Merriweather's 11 points and an impressive 8 rebounds.
LynKaylah James, CCS Player of the Week, left an indelible mark, dominating the paint with an authoritative 10 rebounds.
