Berea Holds Off Asbury For a Second Time This Season

BEREA, KY.  - Mountaineers continue winning streak with an impressive contest win over the Asbury Eagles.

Berea College found a worthy opponent in the Eagle. However, with suffocating defensive stars like Nevaeh Bates, Dailyn Spalding and LynKaylah James, Berea was able to hold of Asbury from gaining too much momentum.  Jayden Merriweather led the team in made threes (4) and steals (6). Spalding hit 3-3 in free throw as well as tying James with 4 offensive rebounds. Drea Satori commanded the team with 6 assists. Kayla McClendon hit her only shot from behind the arc. LynKaylah James dominated in the paint scoring 22 points, finding 11 rebounds and 1 block. Berea won by a score of 63-55.

December 19, Berea will travel to Springfield, Ohio to play in the Wittenburg Tournament against University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Miami University (Hamilton).
