KNOXVILLE, Tn. - The Berea College women's soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss Wednesday night against the Johnson University Royals.
The Mountaineers took an early lead on a goal by
Naomi Scott at the 29:00 mark of the first half, assisted by her sister
Gabrielle Scott and
Kauri McKeithen. However, early in the second half, the Royals attacked the net, scoring three consecutive goals in the span of ten minutes. Berea tried to mount a comeback with a late goal from
Alyssa Tittsworth but had their final scoring attempts turned away by Johnson keeper Kaitlyn Pope.
Berea College ended with eight shots, six being on goal. Berea keeper
Kyla Simmons recorded 10 saves.
The Mountaineers next game will be at Midway University on October 1st.
