MARYVILLE, TN - Berea College loses its second conference game against Maryville by a score of 86-77.
Berea scored 40 points in the paint and led for most of the first half but were still unable to outscore the Scotts in the end. A lack of made three point shots and offensive rebounding led to the Mountaineers not being able to pull away with a win on Wednesday.
Bryce Riley led in assist (3) and turnovers (5) but also made all six of his attempted free throws along with adding a technical foul to his stats. Riley and
Ja'Rel Montgomery both made 2 three pointers but Montgomery led the team with 8 rebounds on his own. Guard
Trey Minter shot 9-17 and ended up leading the team with 23 points.
Demetris Phillips recorded 2 blocked shots.
Berea's next opponent will be the LaGrange Panthers. The game will be played in LaGrange, Georgia on January 12 at 7:00 PM.
