LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA – Berea College struggled in a tough road match against Covenant College, ultimately losing by a score of 5-1. Covenant struck first, building a quick 2-0 lead within the first 5 minutes of play. They added a third goal at the 39th minute, extending their advantage.
Shortly after halftime, the Scots continued to capitalize on defensive mistakes by the Mountaineers, scoring two more goals—a low shot to the right and a penalty kick—bringing the score to 5-0 just 52 minutes into the match. However, Berea's Victor Hernandez found Tabore Takpor, who fought through contact to score, resulting in a final score of 5-1.
Covenant outshot Berea 35 to 16 and had 15 shots on goal compared to Berea's 7. Tabore Takpor led the team in shots taken and shots on goal.
