TERRE HAUTE, IN - This past weekend, the Berea College women's volleyball team faced off against Rose-Hulman in Indiana. The match commenced shortly after 11 AM, with the Mountaineers putting forth a strong effort. Berea secured a thrilling first set victory with a score of 27-25. However, the Elephants rebounded, taking the second set 25-22. The Mountaineers continued to fight but ultimately fell to Rose-Hulman in the third set with a score of 18-25. The match concluded with the Elephants maintaining their momentum in the fourth set, winning 25-13.
Despite the loss, there were several standout performances.
Deanna De La Torre led the offense with 19 kills, while
Brianna Negron Torres contributed 23 assists. Defensively,
Amelie Cora excelled with 32 digs, complemented by
Jade Broka with 2 blocks and
Nashaliz Garcia with 3 blocks.
The Mountaineers will next compete on October 12th, 2024, against Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, with a start time of 1:00 PM.
