SPRINGFIELD, OH – Track and field takes both Men's and Women's teams to compete at the Wittenberg Invitational in Springfield, Ohio. As the 2023-24 Indoor season rounds the curve to head home, they're approaching outdoor with an impressive number of new school records and personal bests.
Madison Stonestreet smashed two previous school records, which she already held, back-to-back in her respective events. Stonestreet broke the 3k record for Women's Indoor with a time of 10:14.68 and the 1 mile Women's Indoor record, coming in at 5:14.95.
Freshman newcomer
Jaleesa Herman broke the school record in the 60mh for Women's Indoor with a 9.92 in her first season.
Kymiah Blair came out of the gate blazing with an indoor personal best and new school record for the Indoor 400m (58.78) coming in 2
nd overall, then proceeded to claim a first place spot on the 200m leaderboard with a PR and new school record of 24.99.
Blair also helped carry the Women's 4x400 team, made up of other teammates
Kristin Fischli,
Peyton Potts, and
Liberte Mack to victory. The team collectively ran up the leaderboard to 1
st place with a time of 4:05.58, breaking the previous school record for the Women's Indoor 4x400.
As for the Men's team,
Larry Branch also smashed a school record he already held in triple jump. Branch recorded a jump of 13.48m, beating his last record by 12cm.
