Berea, Ky. - Berea College lost at home against Wilmington College with the final score being 11-6, Tuesday night.

The Mountaineers are now 2-2 overall. Berea recorded 9 hits, of which, four of them went for extra bases.

After a scoreless first inning, Wilmington had a six-run inning in the top of the 2nd. Berea scores their first run off an RBI-Single by
Fredison Rivera. Then in the top of the 4th inning, Wilmington scores one more run making the score 7-1 going into the bottom of the 4th inning. Then
Zion Clay gets an RBI-Double to score us another run. That was not the only run in the 4th though, as
Jay Nunez hit an RBI-Single to make the score 7-3 going into the 5th inning.

In the bottom of the 5th,
Giovanny Ortiz hit an RBI-Double to score another run for the Mountaineers, making the score 7-4. After a scoreless 6th inning, in the top of the 7th, Wilmington scored another run. Wilmington then scored 3 runs in the 8th inning making the score 11-4 going into the 9th inning. In the bottom of the 9th,
Corbin Thacker hits an RBI-Single to score another run for the Mountaineers. Later in that same inning,
Jordan McVey crossed home plate to make the final score 11-6.

The Berea Mountaineers play again this weekend against Oberlin College in a three game series. This will take place at home in the Berea College Sports Complex. First pitch is to be thrown at 1pm on Saturday, March 2nd.
