Maryville, TN- The Mountaineers travel to Maryville College in a conference series match up. The final scores of the games were 2-16, 5-15, and 2-5.
Game One: Berea 2, Maryville 16
Going into the top of the first inning, the Mountaineers get on the board, scoring one. The run was scored by Jayden Junta grounding out, leading to Talon Yates to score. Maryville answered back, scoring ten runs in the bottom of the first inning. Both Berea and Maryville were scoreless in the second and third innings of the game. In the top of the fourth inning, the Mountaineers scored another run on a home run from Jayden Junta. Maryville College then adds two more runs to their lead. The Mountaineers were scoreless for the rest of the game, but Maryville college scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and two runs in the bottom of the sixth. The final score of the game was 16-2, with Maryville College taking game one of the series.
Game Two: Berea 5, Maryville 15
In the top of the first inning in game two of the series, the Mountaineers got on the board, scoring two runs. The runs were scored by a double from Darius Davis, scoring Rafael Ramos-Davila and Fredison Rivera. In the bottom of the first inning, Maryville College scored three runs going into the top of the second inning. In the second inning of the game, both Berea and Maryville were scoreless. The Mountaineers were scoreless in the top of the third inning, but Maryville scored two runs. The Mountaineers remained scoreless in the top of the fourth inning. Maryville College kept adding to their lead, scoring one run in the bottom of the fourth inning. In the top of the fifth inning, the Mountaineers get on board after Fredison Rivera steals home. Maryville proceeds to score two more runs. In the top of the sixth inning, the Mountaineers scored a run from a single by Justin Brown, scoring Giovanny Ortiz. Maryville answers back, scoring another two runs. In the top of the seventh inning of the game, the Mountaineers scored one run from a single by Alejandro Avila, scoring Darius Davis, Maryville then scored another two runs going into the eighth inning of the game. With a scoreless eighth inning for the Mountaineers, Maryville College secures their win by scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. The final score of the game was 15-5.
Game Three: Berea 2, Maryville 5
With a scoreless first inning for the Mountaineers, Maryville College is first on the board, scoring four runs. In the top of the second inning, the Mountaineers remained scoreless, but Maryville scored one run going into the top of the third inning. Both Berea and Maryville were scoreless in the third and fourth innings of the game. In the top of the fifth inning, Berea got on the board, scoring two runs from a single by Justin Brown and Fredison Rivera, scoring Michael Vazquez and Giovanny Ortiz. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Maryville College was scoreless. Both Berea and Maryville College were scoreless for the rest of the game. The final score of the game was 5-2, with Maryville making a sweep over the Mountaineers.
